If you’ve been following me via social media you might have seen me running uptown/downtown to mens trade shows 2 weeks ago. Brands all over the world gather at Capsule to display their Autumn/Winter collections ’15. It seems like a jump being as though its a whole year from now, but I was happy to attend and get some inspiration for the rest of this (cold, cold) Winter and next year. Besides when its this cold out you need some type of inspiration to get dressed for the weather.
Last year Capsule asked me to curate some of my favorite pieces from the show. Check out some of my favorite pieces here.
This year I was asked to narrow it down to ONE PIECE! It was a life decision and it took me a while. Every brand was unique but I finally found a gem toward the back. Take a look below at what piece I chose from what brand. The original content is from Capsules site featured here. Scroll down for the full interview and comment your thoughts on the piece.
Capsule Best In Show is a series where our friends in the menswear industry give us the scoop on what they believe to be the best piece at Capsule for Autumn/Winter 2015, how they’d style it and why they need it in their wardrobes.

Item: Saint Ash of Brooklyn Quilted Coat
Jamal Jackson, the man behind the blog Style Society Guy, scouted out this eye-catching camo quilted and corduroy piece from the emerging label.
What drew you to this particular piece?
Its so lax. Its been a while since I’ve seen outerwear like this. I love the idea of a smoking jacket modernized, so much that you can wear it indoors and out if you wanted. The corduroy shawl collar made this jacket even more desirable since corduroy is trending (again). The details are impeccable.
How does this piece work with your wardrobe or aesthetic (even if it’s meant for guys)?
This jacket shows the middle ground of my style, I love the dapper look but comfortability usually outweighs. I generally steer away from down jackets but if its anything like this, ill take it!
What item from your wardrobe would you pair this with?
So many. For more formal wear I would wear a 3 piece vintage wool suit for a casual look I would pair this with a turtle neck and mock the collar and wear navy corduroys and finish it with Chelsea boots.
