Add this to your list of ‘where to bring your friends when they visit New York’….Xanadu
We all know the struggle. Your friends call you at the last minute saying they’re in New York or on the way and want to hang. Where should I go? What time should we meet? Are there any cool bars near you? I lived here for a bout 8 years and when people ask me where they should go my face looks like this —-> 😐
Not because I cant think of any its just that New Yorkers usually have a routine, we try out new places but we have to be really adventurous to actually search around. I found a cool spot that I discovered a year ago inside Mccaren Hotel called Xanadu bar. I was invited to an event there and noted to come back again. Its on North 12th st in Williamsburg which Im sure all of you have heard about or visited before.
This little gem is the prefect spot for after work food and drinks or meetings. The vibes are pretty cool and while its doesn’t get busy til about 8pm on the weekdays you will usually find guests from the the hotel chilling here or by the pool before that time. Did I mention theres an awesome pool downstairs? I posted it on my Instagram a recently. Look here. Heres a run down on why I suggest this Brooklyn rooftop…Im pretty sure these photos will convince you to check it out too.
Food & Drink:
First things first..right? I tried the crispy lamb ribs and soft shell crab sliders. Out of the two the lamb was my favorite, the right amount spiced honey and black pepper yogurt was what made this unique dish so flavorful.

Interior Goals: Rooftop Aura – but Brooklyn style
This is what I like about the rooftop the most. The interior and feel of being at the rooftop is like being in a cool Brooklyn loft with the black and white sofa and yellow accents. If I were to ever own a loft this is how it would look (bar included). Id probably used gold instead of yellow but thats my taste. Anyway, heres I’ve included some inspiration with the photos for more black and white striped and gold decor.
Locals and Vistors:
I usually try to run away from hotel guests at rooftop bars. They always end up being weird and creepy and ask a bunch of questions and the reason you came to a rooftop bar was to relax, enjoy the views and small talk with friends. The women are easy on the eyes too. All in all there are no bridge and tunnels here and the girls good looking.
